    On Friday, the NCW has called upon Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, for a hearing regarding the accusation of assaulting MP Swati Maliwal.

    NCW Takes Action Following Allegations of Assault Against Delhi CM’s Aide

    The NCW stated that it had independently initiated action after noticing a social media post titled ‘DCW chief Swati Maliwal accuses Arvind Kejriwal’s personal secretary of assaulting her’. According to the NCW, the post allegd that Swati Maliwal, a Rajya Sabha MP from Delhi and former head of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), claimed she was violently assaulte by the private secretary of the Delhi chief minister at the chief minister’s residence.

    NCW Summons Parties Involved in Assault Allegation for Hearing

    “The Commission has arranged a hearing on May 17, 2024, at 11 AM, in light of the aforementioned circumstances. All involved parties are requird to attend the Commission’s session in person,” the notification stated.

    On Monday, the police reporte that Maliwal had contacted the police control room (PCR) in the morning, claiming that she had been assault by Kumar at Kejriwal’s residence. Although Maliwal visit the Civil Lines police station, no official complaint was lodge. Police records indicate two daily diary entries relate to the PCR call, wherein Maliwal allege that she was assault upon Kejriwal’s directives.

    Kejriwal Aide’s Presence at Press Conference Adds Fuel to Controversy

    On Thursday morning, Kumar was observed alongside Singh and Kejriwal, both of whom were set to hold a press conference with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav at Lucknow airport, sparking another controversy over the incident.

    While Kejriwal refraid from addressing questions regarding Maliwal, Singh recalled her own experience of being and mistreat by police personnel while showing support to women wrestlers who had accusd BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of molestation at Jantar Mantar. “AAP is like family to us; the party has clearly stated its stance… Let’s not politicize this issue,” Singh remarked.
