According to police sources, two women lost their lives and three others sustained injuries after they were hit by a train while crossing the railway track at Balamau railway station in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred as five passengers were attempting to switch platforms.
“Due to dense fog the passengers failed to spot the run through train and were run over by it,” they said.

Police sources said that Anita, a resident of Lakhimpur district and Anita, a resident of Sitapur district, were killed in the incident.
“Pramod Kumar, Shakeel Ahmed and Ali Moon, all residents of Sitapur, were seriously injured in the incident and have been admitted to the community health center,” they said.
