In the Jhinjhana area of Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, a significant encounter occurred between the Special Task Force (STF) and a gang of criminals. The operation led to the elimination of four gang members. Among them was Arshad, a key figure in the infamous Mustafa Kagga gang, who was wanted for multiple heinous offenses, including robbery, dacoity, and murder.
Arshad, carrying a bounty of one lakh rupees on his head, was a prominent figure involved in multiple high-profile criminal activities in the region. He had been implicated in over a dozen cases, including robbery, dacoity, and homicide. In the Shamli Encounter, STF forces cornered Arshad along with his associates Manjeet, Satish, and an unidentified individual in Jhinjhana . When confronted, the criminals opened fire on the STF team, prompting a retaliatory response. The exchange resulted in the deaths of all four criminals, including Arshad.

STF Operation: Criminals Neutralized, Inspector Critically Injured
STF ASP Brijesh Kumar confirmed the fatalities, stating that Arshad and his accomplices were involved in multiple violent crimes. During the crossfire, STF Inspector Sunil, who led the operation, sustained critical injuries with two gunshot wounds to his abdomen. He was initially admitted to Amritdhara Hospital in Karnal but later transferred to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram due to his critical condition.
The identities of three of the deceased criminals have been verified: Arshad from Saharanpur, Manjeet from Sonipat, and Satish from Karnal. The fourth criminal, whose identity remains unknown, also lost his life in the encounter.
