Anita Goyal, the wife of Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal, has passed away in Mumbai after a long battle with cancer. She breathed her last at 3 am on Thursday in a Mumbai hospital where she was undergoing treatment. Media reports suggest that Anita Goyal’s last rites will be conducte in Mumbai today.

On May 6, the Bombay High Court had granted interim bail of 2 months to Naresh Goyal on medical and humanitarian grounds in a money laundering case. In the Goyal family, Anita Goyal is survive by her husband and two children, Namrata and Nivan Goyal. Naresh Goyal is also facing challenges due to the cancellation of flights.

Anita Goyal played a role in the operations of Jet Airways

Anita Goyal was associate with the operations of Jet Airways and was the Executive Vice President. In 2015, she became non-executive vice president, but remained on the board of directors.

Jet Airways was once one of the largest private airlines in India and had the status of the largest private airline in South Asian countries. Then, due to being burden with debt, Jet Airways was grounded (ceased operations) on 17 April 2019.

Anita Goyal was also accuse in money laundering case

In November 2023, ED also arrested Goyal’s wife Anita in a money laundering case. However, based on his age and health condition the court immediately granted him bail.

Naresh Goyal started crying in the court

On January 6 this year, during the hearing of his bail plea, Goyal started crying in the PLMA Special Court in Mumbai. Then he told the court, ‘I have lost hope of life. My health has deteriorated greatly. It would be better to die in jail. I miss my wife a lot. He is in the last stage of cancer.
