In a move that could undermine opposition unity ahead of the Delhi elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) threatened to discuss with other INDIA alliance parties the possibility of removing Congress on Thursday.

The AAP is also angry about comments from Delhi Congress leaders, including Ajay Maken, who criticized the party. In a press conference, AAP’s Sanjay Singh stated that if the party takes no action against Maken, AAP will urge INDIA bloc members to remove Congress from the alliance.

Earlier media reports suggested that the AAP became upset after Congress filed a complaint against Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of misleading the public with promises of “non-existent” welfare schemes.

Delhi Congress Releases “White Paper” Accusing AAP and BJP of Unfulfilled Promises

On Wednesday, the Delhi Congress released a 12-point “white paper” accusing the AAP and BJP of failing to fulfill promises and mismanaging issues such as pollution, civic amenities, and law and order.

During a press conference, AICC treasurer Ajay Maken criticized AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, stating that while his party rose to power on the back of the Janlokpal movement, it has failed to establish the anti-corruption ombudsman.

While releasing the white paper titled “Mauka Mauka, Har Baar Dhoka,” he referred to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as “Farziwal.”

Maken said, “If there is anyone who can be called the king of fraud in the entire country, it is Kejriwal. That’s why we have brought this white paper on both the Kejriwal and the BJP governments at the Centre.”

AAP leader Sanjay Singh said on Thursday that Congress is doing everything to aid the BJP in winning the Delhi elections, adding that Ajay Maken “follows the BJP’s script.”

Sanjay Singh said, “Congress leader Ajay Maken called Arvind Kejriwal ‘anti-national’, and the party must take action within 24 hours. Congress appears to have made the Delhi poll candidate list with the intent to harm AAP.

    Controversy over AAP’s proposed schemes

The political clash arises from a recent notice issued by a Delhi government department against the proposed women-oriented scheme, providing the opposition with ammunition to criticize the AAP government.

The Delhi government’s Women and Child Development (WCD) department clarified that the AAP’s announced ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ ahead of the 2025 assembly elections has not received any official notification.
