On Monday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) unveiled its second list of candidates for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, making a significant change by relocating the party’s number two leader, Manish Sisodia, to the Jangpura seat from his current constituency of Patparganj.
Avadh Ojha, an educator who recently joined the Arvind Kejriwal-led party, will contest for Patparganj, a seat Manish Sisodia has held since 2013.

Manish Sisodia, the former deputy chief minister of Delhi, secured commanding victories in 2013 and 2015, but barely managed to win with a slim margin in 2020.

Another prominent AAP figure on the list is Rakhi Bidlan, the deputy speaker of the Delhi assembly. She will contest from Madipur, replacing her current Mangolpuri seat, which Rakesh Jatav Dharamrakshak will now contest.
The new list includes Dinesh Bhardwaj (Narela), Surender Pal Singh Bittu (Timarpur), Mukesh Goel (Adarsh Nagar), Jasbir Karala (Mundka), Pradeep Mittal (Rohini), Purandeep Singh Sawhney (Chandni Chowk), Parvesh Ratan (Patel Nagar), Pravin Kumar (Janakpuri), and others.
Jitender Singh Shunty and Parvesh Ratan are recent AAP members who joined the party after switching from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the main opposition in the capital, which holds eight seats in the assembly. At the same time, the AAP controls the remaining 62.
The Delhi assembly elections are likely in February. The AAP has been in power since December 2013, except for a 12-month period in 2014-2015 when President’s rule took effect after Arvind Kejriwal resigned.
