Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reacted sharply to the court’s setback in the Mysuru land ‘scam’ case, calling it “revenge politics” by BJP and JDS. After the Karnataka High Court dismissed his plea challenging the investigation against him in the alleged land scam, Siddaramaiah took to social media to express his thoughts. He posted on X, stating that he learned about the court’s verdict through media reports and will provide a detailed response soon.

Siddaramaiah emphasized that the court had completely rejected the Governor’s order under Section 218, limiting its focus to Section 17A. He assured that he would not hesitate to investigate the matter further and would consult legal experts to determine whether such an investigation is permissible by law. “The people of the state are with me in this political battle. Their blessings are my shield. I trust in the law and constitution, and in the end, truth will prevail,” he said.

The chief minister further accused the central government of indulging in revenge politics. He pointed fingers at the BJP and JDS, alleging that they were targeting him because of his pro-poor policies and his fight for social justice. “This is a fight against the revenge politics of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government. Our judicial battle against this political retaliation by BJP and JDS will continue. I have full faith in the court,” he remarked.

Following the High Court’s verdict on the MUDA land case, BJP leaders demanded Siddaramaiah’s resignation. In response, he hit back, saying that those calling for his resignation are the same individuals who have opposed his welfare schemes for the poor and oppressed in Karnataka. He also criticized the central government, accusing it of using the Raj Bhavan to target opposition governments across the country.
