The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday revised the dates for Manipur Assembly elections 2022.
As per the latest schedule, polling in Manipur will be held in two phases – February 28, 2022 (Monday) and March 5, 2022 (Saturday). The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
Earlier, voting in the state was scheduled to be held on February 27, 2022 and March 3, 2022.

The ECI in its notification said, “The Commission recently visited Manipur on 7-8th, February to review election preparedness and held interaction with Political Parties, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and other State-level officers, Chief Electoral Officer, District Election Officers and Superintendents of Police, Director General Assam Rifles and other Law Enforcement Agencies and other relevant stakeholders. Various issues and ground situations presented to the Commission during the visit.”
