The FIR was lodgd late Tuesday night at the Hazratganj police station following a complaint by Ravi Kishan’s wife, Preeti Shukla. In addition to Aparna Thakur, the FIR includes her husband Rajesh Soni, daughter Shenova Soni, son Sonak Soni, Samajwadi Party leader Vivek Kumar Pandey, and journalist Khurshid Khan.

Allegations of Threats and Extortion Against Aparna Thakur
The BJP MP’s wife also alleged in the FIR that Aparna Soni alias Aparna Thakur had threatened her, saying that she has links with the underworld. She allegely demand a ransom of ₹20 crore and threatend that if her demand was not met, she would tarnish Ravi Kishan’s image by implicating him in a false rape case.
FIR: False Accusations and Political Implications
The FIR mentiond that a complaint regarding this matter was lodgd with the Mumbai Police, but Aparna conducted a press conference in Lucknow on April 15, leveling false accusations. The FIR alleged that the other individuals named are also complicit in this matter.
The BJP has chosen to field Ravi Kishan, a prominent Bhojpuri film star, as its candidate for the Gorakhpur constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Ravi Kishan has been representing this constituency since the 2019 elections.
