Gourav Vallabh resigns from Congress, says 'can't raise anti-sanatana slogans'

On Thursday, Gourav Vallabh, the Congress spokesperson, announced his resignation from all party positions, stating his inability to advocate against Sanatana principles or criticize the nation’s wealth creators.

Calling the party directionless, Gourav Vallabh wrote on X, “I am not able to feel comfortable with the way in which the Congress Party is moving ahead today. I can neither raise anti-Sanatan slogans nor abuse the wealth creators of the country… That’s why I am resigning from all posts and primary membership of the Congress Party.”

    Gourav Vallabh’s Political Journey

In the 2023 Rajasthan assembly election, Gourav Vallabh contested from the Udaipur constituency but was defeated by the BJP candidate, who secured a comfortable win with a margin of over 32,000 votes.

Vallabh’s political debut occurred in 2019 in Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur East, where he garnered over 18,000 votes and finished third behind then-sitting chief minister Raghubar Das and Saryu Roy. He alleged that the Congress party is moving in the wrong direction, straying from the ‘basic principle of the party’, reported ANI.

Allegations of Misdirection and Economic Policy Contradictions

These days, the party is perceived to be moving in the wrong direction. On one hand, discussions about a caste-based census are ongoing, while on the other hand, the party appears to oppose the entire Hindu society. This approach sends a misleading message to the public, implying that the party supports a particular religion exclusively. Such actions are contrary to the fundamental principles of Congress,” he remarked.

Additionally, he accused the Congress of consistently adopting a stance on economic matters ‘that seeks to demean and criticize the wealth creators of the country’.
