The Assam State Election Commission (SEC) on Wednesday has announce that the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC). Election will conduct on April 19 while the counting of the votes will done on April 21.
Candidates will have to submit their nominations by March 30. The committee has reserved 50 percent of wards for the female candidates.
Alok Kumar, State Election Commissioner in Guwahati has confirmed that the Model Code of Conduct comes into immediate effect from today.
The GMC Election will held for 60 wards.
The elections will held across 789 polling stations with the help of Electronic Voting Machine (EVMs).
