Disha Salian’s Father Seeks New Probe, Alleges Cover-up
Satish Salian, Disha Salian’s father, approached the Bombay High Court requesting a new investigation into the suspicious circumstances surrounding her death in June 2020. He stated that the petition called for filing a First Information Report against Aaditya Thackeray and transferring the investigation to the CBI. Satish Salian told reporters that the petition also accused someone of raping and murdering his daughter, with a politically-driven cover-up to protect specific influential individuals.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane blamed the former Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government for attempting to conceal the facts about Disha Salian’s death and expressed confidence that the court would reveal the “truth.” “Our MLA, Ameet Satam, brought up this issue in the House today, detailing the entire sequence of events. He explained how the case happened during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, how they covered it up, how CCTV footage vanished, and how they pressured doctors. Her father also alleged that someone altered the postmortem report, Rane told ANI.
Salian died on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of a building in suburban Malad. The city police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) at the time. Six days later, on June 14, Bollywood actor Rajput was found dead in an apparent suicide in his Bandra apartment.
