India dismissed Bangladesh’s comments on the violence in West Bengal. Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), called the statement insincere and criticized it as an effort to compare India’s concerns about the persecution of minorities in Bangladesh, where the perpetrators of such crimes remain unpunished.
Jaiswal urged Bangladesh to stop making unwarranted comments and instead focus on protecting its own minority communities. He emphasized the need for meaningful action to ensure their safety, rights, and well-being.

Bangladesh’s Press Secretary Condemns Attacks, Calls for Action in India
In a statement on Thursday, Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, condemned the attacks on Muslims in West Bengal, which resulted in significant loss of life and property. He urged the Indian government and West Bengal authorities to take steps to protect the Muslim minority.
