Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited the Prime Ministers of Nepal, Bangladesh, and Mauritius, as well as the President of Sri Lanka and the King of Bhutan, to attend his swearing-in ceremony later this week, sources informed CNN-News18 on Wednesday.
PM Modi invited Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina, Nepali counterpart Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth for the swearing-in ceremony. Also invited are Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Druk Gyalpo Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.
Earlier on Wednesday, PM Modi thanked each of the aforementioned leaders after they congratulated him on NDA’s electoral success in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

Modi: Strengthening Ties with Bangladesh and Mauritius
In a series of tweets, he also said that he held a telephone call with the aforementioned leaders.
“I thank Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her warm wishes. India and Bangladesh share historic relations, which have seen unprecedented growth in the last decade. I look forward to working together to further strengthen our people-centric partnership,” PM Modi said in a post on social media site X.
He said he spoke to Bhutanese King, Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Mauritian counterpart Pravind Kumar Jugnauth.
“Thank you, Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, for your call and heartfelt wishes. I look forward to continued collaboration between our two countries further to strengthen the special India-Mauritius relationship in my third term,” he said.
“I thank His Majesty the King of Bhutan for his call and warm wishes. Bhutan-Bharat partnership is unique and exemplary. I look forward to continuing working together and taking this extraordinary partnership to higher levels,” he said in a separate post.
Meanwhile, global leaders US President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and dozens of other leaders congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on NDA’s electoral victory.
