Trinamool leader Mahua Moitra is expect to miss the summons from the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) today regarding a foreign exchange violation case. This comes as the probe agency issued its third summons to the West Bengal leader on Wednesday, following her absence at the first two due to scheduling conflicts.
Ms. Moitra was schedule to meet with the probe agency at its Delhi office today. However, she will be occupied with campaigning for her party in West Bengal’s Krishnanagar instead. “I will be out campaigning in the Krishnanagar constituency in the afternoon,” she informed reporters, as reported by news agency PTI.
The ED wants to question her over transactions linked to a non-resident external, or NRE, account, sources said on Wednesday. Ms Moitra has denied any wrongdoing in the matter.

Mahua Moitra Expelled from Lok Sabha Amid Cash-for-Query Allegations
The former MP was expelled from Lok Sabha last year over cash-for-query allegations. She was accuse of receiving “luxury gifts” and ₹ 2 crore in cash from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions critical of the government in Parliament.
A parliamentary ethics panel had found her conduct “immoral” and “indecent” after she allegedly shared log-in details to her parliament MP account with Mr Hiranandani. The account allegedly accessed multiple times overseas. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also summoned Mr. Hiranandani for questioning in a case related to his Mumbai-based real estate group. Previously, his father, Niranjan Hiranandani, was also question.
CBI Searches Former MP Mahua Moitra’s Kolkata Home in Cash-for-Query Case
On Saturday, the former MP’s Kolkata home was search by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the cash-for-query case after it registered an FIR against Mahua Moitra.
