    Rishabh Pant Reveals Major Team Changes Under New Coach Gautam Gambhir’s Tenure

    The Gautam Gambhir era in Indian cricket began with the tour to Sri Lanka. Where India won the T20I series but lost the ODI series. Following a lengthy break, India will next face Bangladesh in a Test series. Starting September 19, marking Gambhir’s first major challenge. Rishabh Pant, a key player for India’s future, discussed the changes in the team under Gambhir in an interview. Both Gambhir and Pant have played for the Delhi team at the national level.

    Rishabh Pant also warned against underestimating Bangladesh in the upcoming two-Test series. pointing out their recent 2-0 victory over Pakistan at Rawalpindi. He stressed that India must continuously improve to stay competitive. The first Test against Bangladesh will be held in Chennai starting September 19, with the second Test moving to Kanpur.

    India’s schedule includes 10 Tests over the next five months, beginning with the series against Bangladesh, followed by three Tests against New Zealand at home in October-November, and a five-Test series against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

    Pant highlighted that teams from Asia, such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, perform well in familiar conditions due to their experience with such pitches. He stated that the Indian team focuses on maintaining high standards and improving continuously, regardless of the opponent.

    He also emphasized that no series should be taken lightly, as the margins between winning and losing are minimal, and the gap between international teams has narrowed. Pant suggested that participating in the Duleep Trophy before a long Test season would provide valuable match practice, and that the presence of international players in domestic cricket would benefit young cricketers.
