Hardik Pandya, the versatile all-rounder, is set to conduct his maiden press conference as the captain of Mumbai Indians on Monday. Joining him will be the team’s head coach, Mark Boucher. Pandya takes over the reins from Rohit Sharma, who steered Mumbai Indians to numerous triumphs over the past decade. Sharma’s leadership saw the team clinch five IPL titles, making him one of the most successful captains in the tournament’s history, alongside MS Dhoni of Chennai Super Kings.

Mumbai bought back Hardik from Gujarat Titans in an all-cash deal in November last year and made him captain ahead of the auction in December. Hardik captained Titans to the IPL title in 2022 and led them to a runners-up finish in 2023. India all-rounder Hardik Pandya reveal that he promise the team management a return in five days after injuring his ankle in the league stage of the ODI World Cup last October before being rule out for almost three months.

Hardik Pandya’s Ankle Twist: Impact on India’s Fourth Match in the Home World Cup
Featuring in the fourth match of the home World Cup against Bangladesh in Pune, Hardik appeared to twist his ankle while bowling his first over in the game. After the physios walke in to atten him, Hardik walk out of the field while it was later reveale that he would take no further part in the match. While India won the match by seven wickets and proceeded to the final without dropping another game, Hardik’s absence partially unsettled the team balance.
