After the T20 series, India and England will now face each other in ODIs. In the first match of the three-match series, on Tuesday 23 March, the two teams will play against each other in Pune. All three matches of the series will be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium here. India has captured it by defeating England in the Tests and T20 series. Now the intention of Team India is to clinch the ODI series and send the returning team empty-handed.

Even before the ODI series, Indian captain Virat Kohli announced the opener will be Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. Dhawan is currently out of the Test and he was not given much opportunity in T20 as well.

In such a situation, this series will be very important for his return to form. At the same time, three new faces have been given a chance in India’s team in this series. This series will be important for Krunal Pandya, fast bowlers Krishna and Suryakumar Yadav. Suryakumar, who played a strong game in T20, may get a chance to make an ODI debut. It will be difficult to say whether there will be opportunities for Krunal and Krishna.

So far, the two teams have clashed in one-day matches against each other 100 times. In this, the Indian team have won 53 while England have won 42. If two matches are tied, then three matches have not yielded any result. So far, only 1 match has been played between India and England on this ground and India have won that. In 2017, England played a match with India here in which they lost by 3 wickets. India has won two of the four games played on this ground so far, losing two.
