Max Verstappen alleviated the pressure on Sunday by securing his third consecutive victory at the Canadian Grand Prix, solidifying his lead in the drivers’ championship. After losing two of the previous three races, the three-time champion and series leader returned to top form. Supported by strategic decisions from his team in a tactical race, Verstappen won by 3.879 seconds ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris.

Mercedes’ George Russell, who started from pole position, secured third place, finishing ahead of his fast but frustrated teammate, seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen achieved his third consecutive victory at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and the 60th win of his career. Starting second on the grid, he navigated a dramatic race with two Safety Car interventions, benefiting from some fortunate circumstances.

“That was a pretty crazy race and a lot of things were happening,” said Verstappen. “We had to keep on top of our calls and as a team, we did really well today. We remained calm and we pitted at the right time.”
