Renowned Indian cricketer and global icon Virat Kohli has captured the hearts of people in the United States. On Tuesday, a golden statue of Virat Kohli was unveiled and installed at the iconic Times Square.

The United States, which is also a host for the ongoing ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2024, is a big untouched market for cricket. Here, sports like Rugby, Basketball, Tennis, and other American sports have more fan following. But now, with an increasing number of Asians in America, cricket is likely to be the next popular game.

Notably, Kohli’s statue at Times Square is part of a marketing campaign by one of the mattress companies, which the cricketer endorses.
