    Significance of SSLV-D3’s Successful Launch

The August 16 launch of the SSLV-D3 was pivotal as it marked the third and final developmental flight of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV). The maiden mission, SSLV-D1/EOS-02, failed to place the satellites into their intended orbits in August 2022, while the second flight succeeded on February 10, 2023. ISRO Chairman Somanath confirmed the success of the SSLV-D3 mission, stating that the satellite was correctly placed into orbit and all separation processes were nominal. This successful flight completes the development program for the SSLV, paving the way for its use in commercial launches.
