    ISRO’s SpaDeX mission successfully achieves second satellite docking

    ISRO launched the SpaDeX mission on December 30, 2024, and placed two satellites—SDX01 and SDX02—into orbit to carry out a space docking experiment. On Monday, Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced via an X post that the mission had successfully completed its second satellite docking.

    He stated that ISRO carried out the first docking on January 16, 2025, at 6:20 AM, and successfully performed the undocking on March 13, 2025, at 9:20 AM. The agency has scheduled additional experiments for the next two weeks

    ISRO Demonstrates Complete Docking Capabilities with SpaDeX Mission

    ISRO launched the SpaDeX mission on December 30 last year and placed two satellites—SDX01 and SDX02—into orbit to demonstrate a docking experiment in space. The space agency successfully carried out the undocking of the SpaDeX satellites on its very first attempt on March 13 at 09:20 hours (IST), it said in a statement.

    ISRO undocked the satellites in a 460-km circular orbit with a 45-degree inclination and confirmed they are now independently orbiting in good health. This marks the successful demonstration of all key capabilities for rendezvous, docking, and undocking in orbit.
