In Nagarkurnool, rescue teams deployed robots on Tuesday to assist in searching for seven individuals still trapped inside the partially collapsed SLBC tunnel since February 22. The Telangana government made this decision to ensure the safety of rescue personnel, as challenging conditions inside the tunnel, such as water and slush, posed significant risks.

State irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy on March 8 said the government would spend ₹four crores to undertake the operation by utilizing the services of robot experts . He said that the huge Tunnel Boring Machine’s fragments submerged under water, soil, and stones inside the tunnel, creating a hazard for the rescue team.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who visited the tunnel on March 2, suggested to the officials leading the operation to use robots inside the partially collapse SLBC tunnel if necessary, to avoid any danger to the rescue personnel.
