The incident came to light when a group of female students found the concealed camera in their washroom on the evening of August 29. Their discovery led to a scene of chaos and alarm. Reacting to the violation of their privacy, the students quickly organized a protest.

The demonstration began around 7 pm and continued through the night into the following morning. The situation has sparked widespread outrage among the students and local community . with demands for a thorough investigation into how such an invasion of privacy could occur and who is responsible for the illicit sale of the videos.
According to reports, more than 300 photos and videos captured in the women’s hostel washroom were leaked. It has been revealed that Vijay Kumar was involved in selling these recordings to some students. The leaked content included intimate footage that had been secretly recorded by the hidden camera. and the sale of these videos to students further exacerbated the breach of privacy and heightened the distress among the affected individuals.

The police have arrested Vijay Kumar, a senior BTech student from the boys’ hostel, in connection with the hidden camera incident at Gudlavalleru Engineering College.
