Delhi Weather Today: IMD Predicts Thunderstorms and Rain, Minimum Temperature at 18°C

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that thunderstorms and rain will likely affect Delhi on Thursday, February 27. The weather report predicts that the minimum temperature in the national capital will settle at approximately 18 degrees Celsius.

Cloudy skies and intermittent showers may appear throughout the day, causing a drop in temperature and providing relief from dry conditions. Prevailing atmospheric conditions are changing the weather patterns, and authorities advise people to stay prepared for sudden showers and possible disruptions due to rain.

Thunderstorms Expected as Delhi’s Minimum Temperature Drops

At 9 AM on Thursday, officials recorded Delhi’s temperature at 21.2°C, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 26°C later in the day. The Sameer app reported that the city’s air quality remained in the ‘poor’ category, with an AQI of 260, indicating persistent pollution levels. Meanwhile, an approaching Western Disturbance is likely to bring rainfall to Delhi and its neighboring states, including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Haryana, between February 27 and March 1. This weather system could lead to cloudy skies, cooler temperatures, and occasional showers, providing temporary relief from dry conditions.

The weather department predicted no significant change in minimum temperatures across most of India, except in the Northwest region, over the next four to five days. In the national capital, wind speed is expected to gradually increase after the morning hours.

On Wednesday, IMD recorded Delhi’s highest temperature of the season at 32°C, six degrees above the seasonal average. February 2025 matched the 32°C maximum recorded on February 27, 2023, while last year saw a slightly lower peak of 29.7°C.
