The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast severe to extremely heavy rainfall across the country today.
Gujarat
The meteorological office in Gujarat has projected heavy to very heavy monsoon rains in isolated locations quite likely in the districts of Gujarat region, notably Valsad and Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, according to an official notice.
Kerala
In Kerala, As per IMD, Thiruvananthapuram is expected to experience a cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershowers today. As per media reports, holiday has been declared in educational institutions today in Kannur, Kottayam, Kasaragod, Kozhikode and Pathanamthitta. For today, yellow alert has been issued in Malappuram, Kozhikhode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragode districts of Kerala.
Maharashtra
In Mumbai too, IMD has issued an yellow alert for the financial capital today. Apart from Mumbai, a yellow alert for today has also been issued in Thane, Shindhudurg, Nasik, Kolhapur, Akola, Amravat, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal districts of Maharashtra.
Delhi
In Delhi, the Met office has predicted generally cloudy skies. And light to moderate rainfall is expected during the next four days in Delhi. Light to moderate rain lashed parts of Delhi early on Thursday, leading to waterlogging in several areas of the national capital. North, northeast and east Delhi, and Ghaziabad and Loni recorded moderate to heavy rainfall, it said.
Rajasthan
In Rajasthan, the meteorological (MeT) department has predicted light to moderate rains in most of the state’s eastern part along with its Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions in the next three to four days. There is a strong possibility of heavy rains at some places. Very heavy rains at one or two places, it said. The department has issued an orange alert for eastern parts. Yellow alert for western parts for the next two days.
