A resident of Anantnag shared with ANI that the increasing temperatures are a result of global warming. “It’s been extremely hot this year… Recently, temperatures here reached 33°C; the heat has been overwhelming. Children and women are unable to venture outside due to the heat. I believe there should be an additional summer vacation. Due to global warming, people are seeking relief by moving to streams and ponds,” he said.
