India welcomed 2023 with the same spirit as New Year’s Eve: love, joy, and excitement. However, cold waves and chilly winter mornings were common in many parts of the country. Due to the extreme cold and heavy fog in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, the District Magistrate (DM) issued an order on Sunday extending breaks for students in grades 1 through 12 at all recognized institutions until January 4. The action was taken with the student’s interests and well-being in mind. The order was immediately made available to all schools via WhatsApp in order for parents to receive timely notice. “Strict compliance with the said order should be maintained,” according to DM Anuj Singh.
Winter vacations extended in schools
Gorakhpur DM issued a directive on Sunday ordering the government and other recognized schools shut down from LKG to class 8 on January 2 and January 3 due to the cold. Due to the harsh weather, the Punjab Government has extended the winter break in all public, private, and aided schools till January 8.
Harjot Singh Bains, the state’s minister of education, declared today that none of the state’s schools would open on January 2 as planned. According to news sources, the institutions would now start classes on January 9. Previously, December 25 to January 1 was considered the winter break.
All public and private schools in Patna will now begin classes on January 7, according to the District Magistrate.Winter vacation has been extended through the eighth grade in all schools in Haryana as well. Now, January 9 will mark the return of the schools.
